Who I Am

Originally from from Cary, IL, I graduated high school from North Carolina School of the Arts with a major in ballet and was recognized as a NC Scholar. Upon graduation, I joined The Joffrey Ballet, where I danced for two years under the direction of Gerald Arpino and Mark Goldweber. I was a member of Luna Negra Dance Theater for the 2007-2008 season and was a principal guest artist for State Street Dance Studio's Nutcracker. I joined Danceworks Chicago in August 2008 and had the opportunity to perform throughout Europe as part of the Love Hurts....Petrushka production.  I then moved to Los Angeles to dance with Los Angles Ballet for their 2011-2012 season and started working for the Walt Disney Company in May 2012. I joined the entertainment team at Universal Studio’s Orlando Resort in Winter 2013 and performed in Beetlejuice’s Graveyard Review and The Tri Wizard Tournament in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. A proud member of Actors Equity Association, I performed at Walt Disney World in the cast of Festival of the Lion King as a principal dancer and aerialist. In 2019 I received the Quarterly Award at Animal Kingdom while in this position. Prior to joining Festival of the Lion King, I was part of the creation team and performed in Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire, in addition to A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas as well as special events and filming. I was a back-up dancer for Sofia Carson’s “Rotten to the Core” featured on Univision’s New Year’s Eve special 2016 as well as the Disney Channel nationally and danced in Disney’s primetime Christmas special on ABC in 2017 and 2018 choreographed by NappyTabs. I performed with various production and entertainment companies in the Orlando area. My teaching experience includes being on faculty at The Academy of Dance, The Official School of the Joffrey Ballet, while in Chicago and have taught at many schools in the Chicago area, Los Angeles area, and Orlando area. I have taught master classes throughout the US and Europe and have been a guest teacher at various intensives.

I completed my bachelor's degree in May of 2020 with a B.A. in Organizational Leadership and an Undergraduate Certificate in Paralegal. During the pandemic, I was able to complete my 500 Hour Yoga Teacher Certification, accomplishing a goal I set out to do long ago.

I have been a performer for many years and there are many skills I learned while dancing that are universal: motivation, discipline, communication and interpersonal skills, creativity, resilience, confidence, and adaptability, to name a few. I understand what it takes to work for an international organization and how to work individually and on a team. As a performer, you must always be aware of what is going on around you and have the ability to change and adapt at a moment’s notice. I have been working in the entertainment industry for more than 15 years in various companies for stage and TV productions as a performer, choreographer, stage manager, dance captain, office manager, production manager, and instructor. I value the opportunities provided to me throughout my career and I look forward to the leadership opportunities ahead.
